FAIRBORN, Ohio – In a thrilling contest on Sunday, Wright State managed to edge past Robert Morris with a final score of 66-64, thanks to a late surge led by Brandon Noel, who contributed 17 points.
The Raiders found themselves behind for the last 14 and a half minutes of the game, but Andrew Welage came through in the clutch, nailing a pivotal jumper with just 11 seconds left on the clock, which provided the team with a 65-64 lead.
Noel demonstrated efficient shooting, hitting 7 of his 16 attempts from the field, including one of three from beyond the arc. Wright State’s success also came from Michael Imariagbe, who scored nine points while making 4 of 6 shots, and recorded five rebounds. Additionally, Solomon Callaghan added eight points with a shooting performance of 3 of 5 from the field.
On the opposing side, the Colonials were spearheaded by Kam Woods, who posted an impressive stat line with 22 points, six rebounds, and three steals. Amarion Dickerson also had a notable performance for Robert Morris, scoring 17 points, alongside collecting seven rebounds, two steals, and blocking two shots. Despite a strong effort, Robert Morris saw their six-game winning streak come to a halt following this narrow defeat.
The outcome was significant for both teams, with Wright State continuing to battle in the Horizon League as they aim for a solid finish this season.
