SAN DIEGO — In an exciting matchup Saturday night, San Diego State emerged victorious against Wyoming, winning 63-61. The Aztecs showcased their strength with a dominant 20-0 scoring run during the game, which helped them secure the win.
With just 15 seconds remaining, San Diego State held a comfortable 61-50 lead. However, Wyoming responded with a flurry of eight consecutive free throws, narrowing the gap to 61-58 with only eight seconds left on the clock. In a crucial moment, Taj DeGourville from the Aztecs managed to make one out of two free throws, extending the lead to 62-58 with seven seconds remaining.
As the clock ticked down, Obi Agbim drained a 3-pointer for the Cowboys to bring the score to 62-61. But the foul trouble for the Cowboys allowed Kimo Ferrari to seal the game for San Diego State with free throws, cementing the win.
Magoon Gwath had an impressive performance for the Aztecs, finishing the game with 14 points, 11 rebounds, and four blocks. Nicholas Boyd played a key role as well, scoring 10 of his 13 points in the second half, while Miles Byrd contributed 11 points and eight rebounds.
