OMAHA, Neb. — In an exciting matchup on Saturday night, JJ White emerged as the top scorer, leading the Omaha Mavericks to a 78-69 win over the Denver Pioneers.
White showcased his offensive skills by racking up 23 points, shooting an impressive 8 of 13 from the field. In addition to his two made three-pointers out of seven attempts, he also converted five of six free-throw opportunities. This victory marked a significant achievement for the Mavericks, improving their season record to 14 wins and 10 losses, placing them at 8-1 in the Summit League.
Support came from Marquel Sutton, who contributed substantially with 22 points and secured seven rebounds, further bolstering Omaha’s performance. Isaac Ondekane chipped in with an additional 10 points, rounding out a strong offensive presence for the Mavericks.
On the opposing side, DeAndre Craig led the Pioneers with his own impressive performance, notching up 21 points. Nicholas Shogbonyo also played a key role, adding 17 points, along with eight rebounds and two steals, showcasing his defensive skills. Pedro Lopez-Sanvicente added to the Pioneers’ efforts, concluding the game with 11 points and two blocked shots.
