TOWSON, Md. — In a tightly contested matchup on Saturday night, Tyler Tejada led Towson to a narrow victory over Drexel, scoring 20 points in a 55-54 finish.
Tejada contributed not only as a scorer but also grabbed six rebounds to help propel the Tigers (14-9, 9-1 within the Coastal Athletic Association) to their eighth consecutive win. Dylan Williamson was another standout performer for Towson, adding 18 points to the scoreboard. He showcased his shooting skills by connecting on 7 of 15 attempts, including 4 of 9 from three-point range, and also collected five rebounds. Tomiwa Sulaiman had a tougher outing, finishing with six points after shooting just 1 for 7 from the field, yet he managed to hit 4 of 5 free throws and recorded three steals.
For the Dragons (12-11, 4-6), the scoring effort was led by Kobe Magee, who tallied a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds, showcasing his versatility on the court. Shane Blakeney also contributed with 11 points, while Yame Butler added depth to the team’s performance with 10 points and seven rebounds.
In a crucial moment of the game, Tejada scored the final seven points for Towson, sealing the victory with his clutch performance.
Looking ahead, both teams will be back in action on Thursday, with Towson set to face Stony Brook on the road and Drexel preparing to host William & Mary.
