SAN ANTONIO — Jalin Anderson delivered a standout performance, scoring 29 points, as Incarnate Word secured a 74-64 victory against Houston Christian on Saturday evening.
Anderson’s impressive outing included five assists for the Cardinals, who now hold a record of 11-11 overall and 4-7 in the Southland Conference. Supporting him, Dylan Hayman contributed with 14 points on a 6-for-14 shooting display while also grabbing five rebounds. Davion Bailey added another 13 points, though he struggled somewhat, shooting 5 of 16 from the floor and converting only 3 of 12 attempts from beyond the arc.
On the opposing side, Peyton Rogers led the scoring for the Huskies with 16 points, supplemented by eight rebounds. Elijah Brooks also made a significant contribution for Houston Christian, posting 13 points along with five assists, while Julian Mackey finished with 12 points.
Both teams will return to action on Monday. Incarnate Word is set to travel to McNeese, while Houston Christian will hit the road to challenge Nicholls State.
