Michael Gray Jr. was a standout player for the Colonels, contributing significantly to the win with 20 points, shooting an impressive 7 of 10 from the field, including four successful three-pointers out of six attempts.
The Colonels, now holding a record of 13-9 overall and 7-4 within the Southland Conference, also saw solid performances from Jaylen Searles, who notched 12 points and gathered 10 rebounds, and Jamal West Jr., who matched Searles with 12 points while maintaining an efficient shooting rate of 5 for 6 from the field.
On the other side of the court, the McNeese Cowboys had previously been on a remarkable 11-game winning streak, which came to an end with this defeat, bringing their season record to 16-6 and 10-1 in conference play.
Brandon Murray led the Cowboys with 16 points along with two steals, while Quadir Copeland contributed 14 points and also recorded two steals. Javohn Garcia rounded out the scoring for McNeese with 12 points, adding two steals of his own.
