HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — In a thrilling matchup on Saturday night, Dezayne Mingo played a pivotal role as he scored 18 points, leading Marshall to a 67-62 triumph over Coastal Carolina.
Mingo also contributed significantly with six assists, helping the Thundering Herd improve their record to 14 wins and 10 losses overall, with a respectable 7-4 in the Sun Belt Conference.
Mikal Dawson was another key player for Marshall, finishing the game with 15 points after hitting 6 of 11 shots, including 1 out of 3 from three-point range, while also grabbing six rebounds.
Obinna Anochili-Killen added to the team’s success with a solid performance, scoring 14 points on 5 of 10 shooting from the field and successfully converting 4 out of 6 free-throw attempts.
On the opposing side, the Chanticleers, now struggling with an overall record of 8-15 and an unfortunate 1-10 in conference play, were led by Noah Amenhauser, who managed to score 17 points and secure seven rebounds.
Both Jordan Battle and Colin Granger also made significant contributions for Coastal Carolina, each contributing 17 points to the scoreline, with Granger adding eight rebounds to his performance.
