CLINTON, S.C. — D’Maurian Williams contributed significantly to High Point’s triumph over Presbyterian, scoring 20 points in their 84-72 win on Saturday.
Williams showcased an efficient shooting performance, making 7 of his 10 attempts from the floor, including 2 out of 4 from beyond the arc. He also capitalized on his opportunities at the charity stripe, converting 4 of 5 free throws. With this victory, the Panthers improved their record to 19-5, holding a 7-2 mark in the Big South Conference.
In addition to Williams, Kimani Hamilton also had a noteworthy performance, contributing 17 points. Hamilton shot 5 of 8 from the field and was impressive from the free-throw line, hitting 6 out of 9 attempts. He also grabbed five rebounds, helping his team maintain control throughout the game. Kezza Giffa rounded out a strong offensive showing with 12 points, shooting 3 of 7 from the field and completing a perfect 6 for 6 from the free-throw line.
On the other side, the Presbyterian Blue Hose, with a record of 9-15 and 2-7 in the conference, saw Kory Mincy lead their scoring efforts. Mincy put up a solid 24 points while also collecting three steals. Jamahri Harvey supported the team with 17 points, and Kobe Stewart provided additional playmaking, finishing with 12 points and seven assists.
This matchup highlighted the competitive nature of the Big South Conference, with High Point making notable strides toward the top of the standings as they continue their season.
