BURLINGTON, Vt.
— In a close contest on Saturday, Vermont triumphed over Maine with a score of 55-49, led by TJ Hurley’s impressive performance, where he contributed 15 points to the team’s victory.
Hurley demonstrated his scoring capabilities by hitting 5 of 10 attempts from the field, including a strong showing from beyond the arc with 4 of 6 three-pointers made. He also made 1 of 3 attempts at the free-throw line. The Catamounts, now standing at 12 wins and 11 losses overall, with a conference record of 5 wins and 3 losses in the America East Conference, received further support from Shamir Bogues, who added 12 points. Bogues was efficient, going 5 of 8 from the field, with a three-point shooting line of 1 for 3, and also contributed 6 rebounds. Nick Fiorillo rounded out the scoring for Vermont with 11 points, coming from 5 of 11 shooting, although he struggled from three-point territory, shooting just 1 for 7.
