KALAMAZOO, Mich. — On Saturday, Chansey Willis Jr. played a pivotal role in leading Western Michigan to a 61-54 victory over Eastern Michigan, contributing 16 points to the team’s success.
Willis managed to connect on 6 of 14 attempts from the field, which included 2 of 5 from three-point range, solidifying his team’s position in the game. The Broncos now have a record of 7-14 overall and 4-5 in the Mid-American Conference.

Alongside Willis, Javaughn Hannah also made a significant effort, scoring 11 points despite shooting 3 of 12 from the floor. His contributions included a solid performance at the free-throw line, going 5 for 6, in addition to pulling down five rebounds. In a well-rounded team effort, Donovan Williams and Seryee Lewis each scored nine points, with Williams also showcasing his skills on the boards by securing 10 rebounds.

On the opposing side, Eastern Michigan was led by Da’Sean Nelson, who delivered a strong performance with 20 points and 11 rebounds, adding two steals and two blocks to his stat line. The Eagles’ Christian Henry provided support with 12 points and five assists, while Jalin Billingsley contributed nine points along with 10 rebounds. Eastern Michigan’s record now stands at 10-11 and 4-5 within the conference.

Looking ahead, both teams are scheduled for their next matchups on Tuesday. Western Michigan will travel to face Ohio, while Eastern Michigan will play against Kent State at their home court.
