Brown nets 22 points in Saint Bonaventure’s 74-72 win over Fordham

Olean, N.Y. — In a thrilling matchup on Saturday, Noel Brown contributed significantly to Saint Bonaventure’s victory over Fordham, finishing with 22 points.
Brown also secured eight rebounds for the Bonnies, who now hold a record of 17-6 overall and 5-5 within the Atlantic 10 Conference.
Melvin Council Jr. was another key player, adding 13 points along with seven assists, while Lajae Jones chipped in with 11 points, shooting 4 of 8 from the floor, though he struggled from beyond the arc, missing all three attempts from three-point range. He did convert three of four free throw attempts.

On the opposing side, Jackie Johnson III led the Rams (10-12, 2-7) with 20 points and recorded two steals. Japhet Medor was also a standout for Fordham, contributing 18 points and two steals. Josh Rivera added to their tally with 12 points.

Looking ahead, Saint Bonaventure will face Loyola Chicago on the road this coming Tuesday, while Fordham will be looking to bounce back as they host Rhode Island on Wednesday.
