HAMDEN, Conn. — In an exciting matchup on Friday night, Amarri Monroe led the Quinnipiac Bobcats to a strong 81-69 victory against the Fairfield Stags, scoring 27 points.
Monroe’s performance didn’t stop there; he also secured 10 rebounds, contributing significantly to the team’s success. Quinnipiac improved to 13-8 on the season and holds an impressive 9-1 record in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.

Paul Otieno played a crucial role as well, notching 15 points along with 13 rebounds, while Jaden Zimmerman added 14 points to the scoreboard. Zimmerman showcased his shooting skills, converting 5 of 9 attempts from the floor, including 2 of 5 from beyond the arc, plus going 2 of 4 from the free-throw line. This victory marked the Bobcats’ sixth consecutive win.

On the other side of the court, Deon Perry was the leading scorer for the Stags, contributing 23 points to the team’s efforts. Fairfield’s Jamie Bergens also had a solid performance with 15 points, five assists, and two steals. Kyle Jenkins rounded out the scoring with another 12 points. The Stags now hold a record of 8-13 and are 4-6 in the conference.

Both teams are scheduled to compete again on Sunday, with Quinnipiac traveling to face Siena, while Fairfield will take on Iona in an away game, as they look to improve their standings.
