Pam Shriver’s Tennis Trophies Recovered After Being Stolen in a Car During LA Wildfires

Pam Shriver, a member of the International Tennis Hall of Fame, has successfully recovered her beloved trophies that were stored in a car that was stolen from the hotel where she was temporarily residing. This incident occurred as she was forced to evacuate her home due to the dangerous wildfires spreading across the greater Los Angeles area.

“This has been quite an unusual journey. I find myself wishing these trophies could speak; I’d be curious to know about their adventures,” Shriver shared in a phone interview on Friday. “It makes me wonder where they might have traveled during their absence.”

Shriver is recognized for her remarkable achievements in tennis, having secured 21 Grand Slam doubles titles, primarily partnering with the legendary Martina Navratilova. Additionally, she won a gold medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics and boasts a total of 111 doubles championships. She was honored with an induction into the Hall of Fame in 2002, further establishing her legacy in the sport.

During the evacuation, like many residents in the Los Angeles area, Shriver had to leave her home. Luckily for her, it remained unharmed in the aftermath of the fires.

However, while she was lodging in a hotel, her car was stolen, and with it, several personal items, including cherished family photographs that dated back many years. Though the vehicle has yet to be located, about ten days later, Shriver’s trophies appeared mysteriously boxed outside the hotel, which she finally recovered this week.
