CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — Southeast Missouri State secured a 90-79 victory over UT Martin on Thursday night, with Braxton Stacker leading the charge by scoring 19 points.
Stacker showcased an impressive shooting performance, connecting on 6 of 8 attempts from the field, including 3 of 4 from beyond the arc, and hitting 4 of 5 free throws. The Redhawks improved their season record to 12-10 overall and 7-4 in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Rob Martin contributed significantly to the win, adding 18 points and providing seven assists, while BJ Ward also made his mark by scoring 15 points on 6 of 8 shooting, which included 3 of 5 from three-point territory.
On the other side, the Skyhawks struggled despite a standout performance from Josue Grullon, who netted 31 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Tarence Guinyard provided additional support for UT Martin with 12 points, while Carlos Cortijo chipped in with nine points and five assists.
The match demonstrated the competitive spirit of both teams in what has been an engaging season in college basketball.
