ST. CHARLES, Mo. — In an intense matchup on Thursday night, Reggie Bass led Lindenwood to a narrow victory, scoring 20 points in a 65-63 triumph over SIU-Edwardsville.
With just 10 seconds remaining, Jadis Jones drained a couple of crucial free throws, pushing Lindenwood ahead at 64-60. The Cougars, however, quickly responded with a 3-pointer by Ring Malith that closed the gap. Ultimately, Bass secured the win for the Lions by adding a free throw to finalize the score.
Bass displayed remarkable shooting accuracy, going 5 for 7 from the field, which includes an impressive 4 for 4 performance from three-point range. He also contributed significantly by hitting 6 of his 8 free-throw attempts. In addition to Bass, Jones contributed 11 points by shooting 3 of 6 from the floor and converting 5 out of 6 from the free-throw line. Anias Futrell rounded out the scoring for Lindenwood with 10 points, though he struggled at times, hitting only 4 of 12 attempts and missing all seven of his three-point tries.
On the opposing side, Ray’Sean Taylor was a standout for the Cougars, finishing the night with 19 points and recording two steals. Malith had a double-double performance, amassing 15 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. Additionally, Brian Taylor II contributed well for SIU-Edwardsville with 13 points, six rebounds, five assists, and two steals.
