Benjamin’s 14 Points Propel Tarleton State to 61-54 Victory Against Utah Tech

In a thrilling matchup on Thursday night, the Tarleton State Texans secured a 61-54 victory over Utah Tech in Stephenville, Texas. Bubu Benjamin was a standout for the Texans, contributing 14 points along with three steals, helping to guide his team to a much-needed win.

Dantwan Grimes also played a pivotal role in the game, netting 13 points with a shooting performance that included three successful field goals out of ten attempts, as well as making two out of six from beyond the arc. He also effectively utilized the free-throw line, converting five of his eight attempts. Chris Mpaka complemented the team’s effort with a solid performance of 10 points, shooting an impressive 80% from the field, along with two successful free throws. Mpaka was also a force on the boards, securing 10 rebounds.

On the opposing side, Hakim Byrd was the leading scorer for the Trailblazers, finishing the night with 18 points, supported by five assists and two steals. Teammate Noa Gonsalves chipped in with 12 points and contributed two steals, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Texans’ advantage.
