HAMPTON, Va. — In a competitive matchup on Thursday night, Northeastern triumphed over Hampton with a final score of 78-69, propelled by a standout performance from Harold Woods, who contributed 16 points.
Woods also made his presence felt on the boards, securing six rebounds for the Huskies, whose record improved to 12-10 overall and 4-5 in the Coastal Athletic Association. Other key contributors included LA Pratt, who recorded 12 points, along with five rebounds, five assists, and three steals. JB Frankel added another 11 points paired with six rebounds for the Northeastern squad.
On the other side, the Pirates, now standing at 10-12 overall and 3-7 in conference play, were led by George Beale, who netted 19 points in the game, also making two steals. Tyler Rice chipped in with 11 points, while Wayne Bristol Jr. contributed nine points of his own.
Northeastern seized the lead early, just 19 seconds into the first half, and maintained their advantage throughout the game. At halftime, they had established a commanding lead of 44-25, largely thanks to Woods, who tallied 11 points before the break.
