In a decisive matchup on Wednesday evening in Des Moines, Iowa, Drake University triumphed over Northern Iowa with a score of 66-52, marking their seventh consecutive victory.
Bennett Stirtz was a standout performer for the Bulldogs, contributing 20 points and showcasing his defensive skills with three steals. The team improved to an impressive 19-2 overall and 9-2 within the Missouri Valley Conference. Cam Manyawu also made a significant impact, scoring 10 points while shooting 5 of 6 from the field and securing nine rebounds. Daniel Abreu added to the team’s offensive efforts, netting nine points after successfully completing 3 of 7 shots, including three 3-pointers.
For the Panthers, Tytan Anderson led the scoring with 16 points, while Trey Campbell added 10. Despite their efforts, Northern Iowa, now 13-9 and 7-4 in the conference, was unable to overcome Drake’s solid defense and consistent offense.
