In a thrilling matchup in Greenville, South Carolina, the Furman Paladins edged out the Samford Bulldogs with a close score of 72-70 on Wednesday night. Nick Anderson led the way for Furman, registering an impressive 24 points. Cooper Bowser made a significant impact as well, scoring 18 of his total 21 points during the second half of the game.
Anderson was effective on the court, hitting 9 of his 13 attempts, with a notable performance from three-point range where he made 5 of 8 shots. Bowser not only contributed offensively but also added five rebounds and three blocks to his name. In contrast, Pjay Smith Jr. struggled offensively, finishing the game with six points after shooting 3 for 14, and failing to connect on any of his seven attempts from three-point territory.
Bowser’s clutch performance came to a peak when he sank two free throws with just 12 seconds remaining, establishing a four-point advantage for the Paladins. On the other side of the court, Rylan Jones emerged as the top scorer for the Bulldogs, tallying 19 points.
