SALT LAKE CITY — Isaiah Thomas demonstrated his scoring prowess once again, racking up an impressive 40 points during his return to the NBA G League on Tuesday night.
Activated by the Salt Lake City Stars, Thomas showcased his skills by shooting 13 of 28 from the field and also contributed eight assists, despite the team ultimately falling short with a 122-115 defeat against the Valley Suns.
Standing at 5-foot-9, the two-time NBA All-Star is still on the lookout for another opportunity in the NBA after a brief stint with the Phoenix Suns late in the 2023-24 season, where he managed to play six games. His earlier performance for the Stars, where he averaged an impressive 32.5 points over four games, helped pave the way for his activation.
Throughout his 12 seasons in the NBA, Thomas has appeared in 556 games. He enjoyed his peak performance during the 2016-17 season with the Boston Celtics, averaging 28.9 points and securing a fifth-place finish in the MVP voting.
