Crystal Dunn and Gotham FC mutually agree to end their partnership after one season.

Gotham FC has announced that veteran player Crystal Dunn will be parting ways with the team.
The organization in the National Women’s Soccer League revealed on Tuesday that this decision is due to Dunn seeking a new opportunity, although specifics regarding this opportunity have not yet been disclosed.

In a heartfelt message shared on Instagram, Dunn expressed her enthusiasm for embarking on this new chapter in her career.
“As I turn the page and prepare for a new chapter, I am filled with excitement for what lies ahead,” she wrote.
Dunn emphasized her commitment to personal growth, stating, “Everything happens for a reason, and I’m ready to embrace this next phase of my career with passion, grace, and joy.”

Dunn joined Gotham FC as a free agent in late 2023 and had a successful run during her single season with the club, participating in 23 matches and contributing one goal and two assists.
Prior to her time with Gotham, she played for the Portland Thorns, though she took a significant portion of 2022 off to welcome her son into the world.
Additionally, her career includes tenures with the North Carolina Courage, Chelsea in the English Women’s Super League, and the Washington Spirit.

Gotham’s general manager, Yael Averbuch West, spoke highly of Dunn, stating, “Crystal is an accomplished player who has achieved so much in her career.
We wish her all the best in the next chapter of her career, and we thank her for her contributions to our club.”

Dunn has also had an illustrious international career, playing for the U.S. team that clinched the gold medal at the recent Paris Olympics.
She was a crucial member of the squad that triumphed in the 2019 Women’s World Cup as well.
As of now, Dunn, who is 32 years old, has made 154 appearances for the United States, scoring 25 goals and assisting 20 times.
