– Jordan Johnson contributed significantly to Southern’s ongoing success by scoring 16 points, helping the team extend its winning streak to seven games. The Jaguars secured a decisive victory against Mississippi Valley State, resulting in a 63-42 score on Monday night.
Johnson displayed impressive shooting skills, making 6 of 10 attempts, with four of those successful shots coming from three-point range, as Southern improved to 12 wins and 8 losses, maintaining a flawless 7-0 record in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Additionally, Puoch Dobuol provided support with eight points and seven rebounds, while Michael Jacobs also chipped in eight points to the effort.
On the other hand, the Delta Devils, struggling this season, suffered their twelfth consecutive defeat, falling to a record of 2-19 and 0-8 in conference play. Jair Horton led the team in scoring with eight points, complemented by two steals. Alvin Stredic Jr. also made his presence felt on the court with seven points and seven rebounds, alongside Donovan Sanders, who contributed seven points and three steals.
