In a recent matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers, Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball exited the game due to a left ankle injury sustained during the second quarter. Despite Ball’s efforts to return, the Hornets ultimately fell short, losing the game 112-107.

During the play that led to the injury, Ball had just launched a three-pointer while off balance. As he was retreating down the court, he accidentally stepped on the foot of Jarred Vanderbilt, causing him to lose his balance and tumble backwards, striking his head against the hardwood floor. After the fall, Ball managed to get back on his feet, intentionally fouling to halt the clock before heading to the locker room with a noticeable limp, though he did so under his own power.

Since joining the Hornets, Ball has faced multiple ankle injuries, prompting him to wear braces this season for additional support. Following the game, Hornets coach Charles Lee was unable to provide further information on Ball’s condition or the potential duration of his absence from the court. Up until the injury, Ball had contributed seven points in just nine minutes of play.

The situation remains uncertain as fans and the team await updates on Ball’s health and potential recovery timeline.
