MELBOURNE, Australia — Madison Keys, the newly crowned women’s champion of the Australian Open, has reclaimed her career-best ranking this week, joining three other American women in the WTA top 10. Meanwhile, Jannik Sinner, the men’s champion, continues to maintain his substantial lead at the top of the ATP rankings.

Keys, who secured her first Grand Slam title with a thrilling three-set win against the top-seeded Aryna Sabalenka, has jumped from No. 14 to equal her career-high ranking of No. 7. She is now part of a strong American contingent in the women’s rankings, which includes Coco Gauff at No. 3, Jessica Pegula at No. 6, and Emma Navarro, who has slipped one spot to No. 9.

Despite her loss in the final, Sabalenka remains at the No. 1 position, aiming for a third consecutive Australian Open title. Following her exciting defeat to Keys in the semifinals, Iga Swiatek holds steady at No. 2. Zheng Qinwen, an Olympic gold medalist, fell three spots to No. 8, while former World No. 2 Paola Badosa climbed two spots to complete the top 10 after her impressive semifinal run at the tournament.

On the men’s side, the top four rankings remain unchanged, with Sinner solidifying his position at No. 1 since June. He defeated Alexander Zverev in straight sets during the finals, further establishing his dominance. Carlos Alcaraz continues to hold the No. 3 spot, followed closely by Taylor Fritz at No. 4. Daniil Medvedev, however, experienced a downturn, dropping two places to No. 7 following a frustrating early exit at the tournament.

Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic, who had to retire from a semifinal match due to a hamstring injury, has seen a slight boost, moving up one spot to No. 6, just behind Casper Ruud. Adding to the shifts in the rankings, Tommy Paul makes his debut in the men’s top 10, achieving a career-high rank of No. 9 after reaching the quarterfinals at Melbourne Park.
