RENO, Nev. — The San Diego State Aztecs achieved a decisive victory over the Nevada Wolf Pack with a score of 69-50 on Saturday evening.
Magoon Gwath contributed significantly to the win, scoring 15 points and securing 13 rebounds, leading the Aztecs to improve their season record to 13-5, including a 6-3 mark in the Mountain West Conference.
Taj DeGourville also had a solid performance, shooting 66.7% from the field, including making four out of five attempts from beyond the arc, finishing with 14 points.
Meanwhile, Miles Byrd struggled with his shooting, hitting only 3 of 13 attempts from the floor, but still managed to add 11 points with effective free-throw shooting—a flawless 3 for 4 from the charity stripe.

For the Wolf Pack, Justin McBride was the top scorer with 13 points, while Kobe Sanders contributed solidly with 12 points and eight rebounds.
Xavier Dusell also reached double figures, finishing the game with 11 points for Nevada, which now holds a record of 11-9 and a 3-6 performance in conference play.

The Aztecs established their dominance early in the game, taking the lead with 8:18 remaining in the first half and maintaining control throughout the contest.
At halftime, the score stood at 28-21, largely thanks to Gwath’s seven points accumulation during the initial half.
San Diego State surged ahead in the second half, extending their lead to 47-28 after an impressive 8-0 scoring run.
DeGourville was instrumental in the second half, leading his team with nine points as they successfully closed out the match, solidifying their strong standing within the conference.
