In an action-packed evening in Berkeley, California, Jeremiah Wilkinson delivered an impressive performance, notching a career-high 30 points, while DJ Campbell contributed with a season-best 22 points, leading their team to a thrilling 98-94 overtime victory against Miami on Saturday night.

The dramatic end of regulation saw Miami’s Matthew Cleveland receiving an inbound pass with only 4.6 seconds left on the clock. He managed to sink a contested three-pointer just before the buzzer, leveling the game at 79 and pushing it into overtime.

During the extra period, Campbell quickly made his mark, scoring six points during a critical 9-2 run that allowed California to take an 88-81 lead. The Bears continued to build their advantage, going up 94-86 with just 24 seconds remaining. However, Miami’s A.J. Staton-McCray struck back with two successful three-pointers, narrowing the gap to 95-92 before California sealed the game with free throws.

With this win, California improved to 11-9 overall and 4-5 in the ACC, marking their third consecutive victory. On the other hand, Miami fell to 4-16, suffering their ninth straight loss.

Wilkinson showcased strong shooting, finishing with 10 of 22 from the field and hitting 9 of 10 from the charity stripe, though he struggled from beyond the arc, making just 1 of 10 attempts. Campbell had a solid outing as well, shooting 6-of-12 and going 9 of 11 on free throws. As a team, the Bears shot 49% (31 of 63) from the field and were particularly effective from the line, hitting 75% (27 of 36) of their free-throw attempts.

For Miami, Cleveland was a standout, finishing the night with 30 points and eight rebounds. Brandon Johnson also made significant contributions with 16 points and eight boards.

Looking ahead, California will face SMU in their upcoming game on Wednesday, while Miami will host Virginia.
