HAMMOND, La. — In an impressive display of skill, Sam Hines Jr. led the Southeastern Louisiana Lions to a decisive 86-63 victory over the Incarnate Word Cardinals on Saturday evening.

Hines demonstrated his prowess on the court, scoring a commendable 22 points, shooting 8 of 13 from the field, and sinking all four of his free-throw attempts. This win marked an important milestone for the Lions, who now hold a record of 12 wins and 8 losses, as well as a 6-3 standing in the Southland Conference. Jeremy Elyzee contributed significantly with 15 points, completing 6 of 8 attempts and making 2 of 4 from beyond the arc, while also notching three steals. Additionally, Kam Burton rounded out the scoring with 12 points, having made 4 of 7 shots, including 2 of 5 from long range. This victory extended the Lions’ winning streak to six games.

For the Cardinals, Jalin Anderson was the standout player, scoring 27 points and contributing three steals in a valiant effort, despite the team’s struggles. Davion Bailey and Jayden Williams pitched in with 13 and six points, respectively.
