— In an impressive performance on Saturday, Derrian Ford contributed significantly to Arkansas State’s 80-65 win over Texas State with a total of 19 points.
Ford’s shooting was effective, hitting 5 of 11 attempts from the field, showing particular proficiency from beyond the arc with 4 of 7 successful shots.
He also made an impactful contribution from the free-throw line, converting 5 of 6 attempts.
His team, the Red Wolves, improved their season record to 16-5, with a conference standing of 7-2 in the Sun Belt Conference.
Joining Ford in the scoring was Joseph Pinion, who added 17 points, shooting 6 of 12 overall and making 4 of his 8 three-point attempts.
Taryn Todd also made his mark, finishing the game with 12 points, shooting 5 of 12 from the field, though he struggled from three-point range, hitting just 1 of his 5 attempts.
On the opposing side, Josh O’Garro led the Bobcats with a standout performance, scoring 21 points and securing 13 rebounds, while also contributing two steals and two blocks.
Texas State’s Tylan Pope supported the team with 19 points, and Coleton Benson added 15 points to the scoreboard.
