LOWELL, Mass. — In an exciting matchup on Saturday, UMass-Lowell came out on top against New Hampshire with a final score of 97-80.
Max Brooks was a standout performer for the River Hawks, contributing significantly with 22 points while also grabbing nine rebounds.
Quinton Mincey closely followed, netting 20 points and matching Brooks in rebounding with nine.
Additionally, Martin Somerville demonstrated a solid shooting performance, finishing with 18 points, including 6 for 11 from the field and an impressive 3 for 5 from beyond the arc, along with a perfect 3 for 3 from the free-throw line.
On the opposing side, New Hampshire struggled despite a stellar performance from Sami Pissis, who led all scorers with an impressive 33 points and dished out five assists.
Anthony McComb III and Davide Poser also contributed with 11 points each, but the Wildcats (4-18, 2-5) couldn’t find the momentum needed to secure a win.
Looking ahead, both teams will be in action again on Thursday. UMass-Lowell will head to NJIT, while New Hampshire will take to the road to face Maine.
