Alexander and Boston University secure 85-82 overtime victory over Bucknell

BOSTON – In an exciting matchup on Saturday, Boston University edged out Bucknell with a final score of 85-82 after overtime, thanks to a standout performance from Kyrone Alexander. Alexander contributed significantly to the game with 16 points, while teammate Miles Brewster scored five in the extra period.

Alexander also recorded five rebounds as part of the Terriers’ overall effort, bringing their season record to 10 wins and 11 losses, while maintaining a 4-4 standing in the Patriot League. Azmar Abdullah also helped his team with a solid performance, putting up 12 points, shooting 4 for 7, which included two successful three-point attempts out of four, and converting two of three free throws. Michael McNair matched Abdullah’s output with another 12 points, achieving a commendable 4 of 6 from the field and hitting four out of five attempts from beyond the arc.

On the opposing side, the Bison, currently 8-13 and also holding a 4-4 record in the league, were spearheaded by Noah Williamson, who had an impressive 26 points during the game. Josh Bascoe provided crucial support with 16 points alongside four assists and three steals, while Ruot Bijiek added 12 points to the Bison’s score.

The first half concluded with Bucknell leading 39-34, despite Alexander’s eight points in that period. Although Bucknell maintained their lead throughout the second half, Boston’s Otto Landrum managed to level the score at 74 with a layup just 12 seconds before time expired.

During the overtime period, Boston executed well at the free-throw line, sinking six shots in the final 1:03, which allowed them to secure the victory and finish strong against Bucknell.
