STONY BROOK, N.Y. — In an exciting matchup on Saturday, Stony Brook triumphed over N.C. A&T with a score of 89-74, thanks in large part to the impressive performance of CJ Luster II, who contributed a remarkable 31 points to the victory.

Luster demonstrated his shooting prowess, making 9 of 13 attempts from the floor and hitting 4 of 7 shots from beyond the arc. Moreover, he maintained perfect accuracy at the free-throw line, finishing 9 for 9. Alongside Luster, Andre Snoddy also had a strong showing, adding 22 points to the scoreboard while going 9 of 15 from field goal range, including 2 of 4 on three-pointers, and grabbing 13 rebounds. Collin O’Connor played a crucial role as well, scoring 15 points with a shooting split of 5 for 10 overall and making 4 of 6 free throws. This victory marked a significant moment for the Seawolves, as it ended their eight-game losing streak.

For the Aggies, Landon Glasper led the team with 29 points, while Ryan Forrest contributed 28 points to their effort. Efstratios Kalliontzis rounded out the team with six points, six rebounds, and two blocks. Unfortunately for N.C. A&T, this loss extended their own losing streak to eight consecutive games.

Stony Brook gained the lead with 10:07 left in the first half and successfully maintained it for the remainder of the game. Snoddy’s scoring prowess was evident as he led the team’s first-half performance with 13 points, enabling Stony Brook to finish the half ahead 46-35. Luster’s 21-point second-half explosion provided the Seawolves with the additional momentum needed to secure their victory, outpacing N.C. A&T by four points in the final 20 minutes.

Looking ahead, both teams will continue their seasons on Thursday, with Stony Brook set to face Charleston (SC) on the road, while N.C. A&T prepares for a home game against UNC Wilmington.
