TURIN, Italy – In a significant match on Friday night, Scotland’s striker Che Adams led Torino to a 2-0 victory over Cagliari, marking their second win in Serie A since October.
Adams, who previously scored the sole goal in Torino’s last game against Empoli in December, showcased his skills in the cold northern Italian conditions with a standout performance.
The striker opened the scoring just six minutes into the match with a brilliant play. He received a cutback inside the penalty area, skillfully spun, and unleashed a powerful shot that found the back of the net.
Adams struck again in the 61st minute, although this goal had an element of luck. After Yann Karamoah’s strike hit the crossbar, Adams seized the opportunity and fired a shot that deflected off a defender and slipped past the Cagliari goalkeeper.
Adams was close to adding to his tally as Torino dominated the second half, which saw them creating numerous chances. Despite the pressure, a goal from Valentio Lazaro was ruled out after a review by the video assistant referee.
With this win, Torino amassed a total of 26 points, placing them level with Udinese, who are in 10th place. On the other hand, Cagliari finds itself in a challenging position, sitting three places lower and trailing by five points.
