In a hard-fought encounter, Julian Vaughns led Sacramento State to a 75-71 triumph over Idaho State on Thursday by scoring 21 points.
In addition to his scoring prowess, Vaughns contributed seven rebounds for the Hornets, who are now at a record of 6-13 and 2-4 in the Big Sky Conference.
EJ Neal also played a pivotal role in the victory, finishing the game with 12 points and five rebounds, while Jacob Holt added 10 points and managed to shoot 5 of 12 from the field.
On the other side, Dylan Darling was the standout for Idaho State, netting 25 points along with seven assists. The Bengals, now at 8-9 and 3-3 in conference play, received solid support from Jake O’Neil, who recorded a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Evan Otten also contributed by scoring 10 points.
Both Sacramento State and Idaho State are set to compete again on Saturday. The Hornets will be hosting Weber State, while the Bengals will be traveling to face Portland State on the road.
