EDWARDSVILLE, Ill.
— In an impressive showing Thursday night, Ray’Sean Taylor scored 24 points, helping SIU-Edwardsville secure an 82-76 victory against Southern Indiana.
Taylor was also instrumental on defense, contributing three steals for the Cougars, who now hold a record of 13-7 overall and 6-3 in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Brian Taylor II added to the team’s success, making 4 of 8 attempts from the field and going 6 for 7 from the free-throw line to finish with 15 points.
Myles Thompson also had a solid performance, shooting 4 of 8 from the field, hitting 2 of 4 free throws, and ending the night with 10 points, along with six rebounds.
On the opposing side, Damoni Harrison led the Screaming Eagles with a performance that included 15 points and eight rebounds.
Southern Indiana also saw contributions from Sam Kodi, who scored 12 points, while Stephen Olowoniyi added 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Looking ahead, both teams are set to return to action on Saturday. SIU-Edwardsville will be hosting Morehead State, while Southern Indiana will travel to face Eastern Illinois.
