BOSTON — Rashad King contributed significantly to Northeastern’s success with a total of 19 points in their 70-61 win against Drexel on Thursday night.

King’s performance also included seven rebounds, seven assists, and three steals, helping the Huskies improve to a record of 11-9 overall and 3-4 in the Coastal Athletic Association. In a strong supporting role, JB Frankel also netted 19 points, shooting impressively with 6 of 9 from the floor and 5 of 6 from three-point range. Youri Fritz rounded out the offensive output with 13 points, hitting 6 of 7 attempts but struggling a bit at the free-throw line, going 1 of 4.

For the Dragons, who share the same record of 11-9 and 3-4 in the conference, Yame Butler stood out with his performance, finishing the game with 17 points and seven rebounds. Kobe Magee contributed 11 points along with eight rebounds, while Victor Panov also added 11 points to the team’s effort.

Northeastern took charge in the first half, heading into halftime with a 32-26 lead. Frankel was the leading scorer in that period with 11 points. King intensified his play in the second half, scoring 15 points in the latter stages of the game to help secure the nine-point triumph.

Looking ahead, Northeastern has their next game scheduled for Monday as they take on Towson at home, while Drexel will face off against Delaware on Saturday.
