STATESBORO, Ga. — In an impressive performance on Thursday, Eren Banks scored 18 points, facilitating Georgia Southern’s convincing 85-58 victory over Coastal Carolina.
The Eagles improved their record to 11-9 overall and 4-4 in the Sun Belt Conference, with Banks also contributing eight rebounds to the team’s efforts. Other key players included Avantae Parker, who netted 13 points while shooting 4 of 7 from the field and maintaining a perfect record at the free-throw line, going 4 for 4. Adante’ Holiman also played a significant role, scoring 13 points with a shooting line of 4 for 12, including 2 for 5 from beyond the arc, in addition to converting all three of his free-throw attempts.
On the other side, Joshua Meo was the top scorer for the Chanticleers, contributing 15 points in the contest. Teammates Jordan Battle and Rasheed Jones both played well, each adding 11 points to the scoreboard for Coastal Carolina, whose current record stands at 8-12 overall and 1-7 within the conference.
Both teams are set to return to action on Saturday, with Georgia Southern preparing to host Marshall and Coastal Carolina traveling to face Old Dominion.
