A gathering of approximately 70 supporters of Real Sociedad faced a violent confrontation at a bar in Rome late last night, just before the team’s Europa League match against Lazio, according to reports from law enforcement.
Three fans from Sociedad sustained injuries resulting from stab wounds during the incident.
The attackers, estimated to number around 80, are believed to be associated with Lazio’s “ultra” fan group and dispersed quickly upon the arrival of the police.
Currently, Lazio is at the top of the Europa League rankings, while Real Sociedad is positioned 12th among the 36 participating teams in the tournament.
