AMHERST, Mass. — In a spirited matchup on Wednesday night, UMass triumphed over George Washington with a final score of 74-61, propelled by a standout performance from Jaylen Curry, who contributed 19 points.

Curry also recorded six assists for the Minutemen, who improved their record to 9-11 overall and 4-3 within the Atlantic 10 Conference. Alongside Curry, Rahsool Diggins matched his scoring output with 19 points, shooting 7 of 15 from the field, including an impressive 4 for 7 from beyond the arc, while also totaling four steals. Additionally, Daniel Hankins-Sanford chipped in with 10 points on an efficient 5 of 7 shooting.

On the other side, Rafael Castro was the leading scorer for George Washington, finishing with 23 points and seven rebounds. His efforts were complemented by Christian Jones, who contributed 10 points, along with six assists and two steals for the Revolutionaries, whose record now stands at 13-6 overall and 2-4 in conference play.

The turning point for UMass came with just under four minutes left in the first half when they gained the lead and managed to maintain it for the remainder of the game. Curry was instrumental in this effort, scoring 15 points in the first half, helping to position the Minutemen ahead 36-29 at halftime. In the second half, Diggins took charge, adding 17 points to ensure UMass outscored George Washington by a margin of six points in the final period, solidifying their victory.
