IRVING, Texas — The Big 12 Conference is bringing its football media days back to Texas, marking a return to its roots after a year in Las Vegas.

The conference revealed that the annual event, which features coaches and players from its 16 member schools, will take place on July 8-9 at the Ford Center located in Frisco, Texas. This venue is part of The Star complex, which serves as the headquarters for the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.

Last year, the media days were hosted at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

“Texas is the backyard of the Big 12 Conference,” emphasized Scott Draper, the league’s chief football and competition officer.

AT&T Stadium, the home field of the Cowboys in Arlington and the site of the Big 12 Championship Game each year, was not available for the summer event due to ongoing preparations for the 2026 World Cup being held at the venue.

Frisco previously hosted the Big 12 football media days in 2017 and 2018. Following that, the event shifted to AT&T Stadium in 2019. The 2020 season did not include an in-person gathering due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the event returned to AT&T Stadium from 2021 through 2023.
