DAVIDSON, N.C. — On Tuesday evening, Xzayvier Brown starred with 20 points as Saint Joseph’s triumphed over Davidson with a score of 78-61.

In addition to his scoring efforts, Brown contributed six assists for the Hawks, who now stand at 12-7 overall and 4-3 in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Erik Reynolds II also had a notable performance, shooting 6 for 14 and making 5 of 9 attempts from three-point range to add 17 points to the Hawks’ total. Rasheer Fleming played a key role as well, finishing the game with 12 points on 5 of 8 shooting from the field.

Davidson’s performance was highlighted by Reed Bailey, who led the Wildcats with 25 points. Zach Laput chipped in with 10 points and added six rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win.

The game saw Saint Joseph’s establishing a commanding lead, heading into halftime with a score of 43-27, largely thanks to Fleming’s contributions.

In the second half, Saint Joseph’s continued to build their advantage, reaching a 54-37 lead after a pivotal 9-0 scoring run. Reynolds was particularly impactful during this period, leading the scoring with 12 points in the half.

Looking ahead, Saint Joseph’s is set to face Dayton on the road this coming Friday. Meanwhile, Davidson will be looking to bounce back on Saturday as they take on Richmond.
