MIAMI — In a stellar performance, rookie Kel’el Ware contributed 25 points, equaling his season best, while Duncan Robinson added 21 points with an impressive 5-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc. This offensive display propelled the Miami Heat to a decisive 128-107 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday.

Jimmy Butler, who returned from a seven-game suspension for actions deemed detrimental to the team, recorded eight points and seven assists in his second game back. Meanwhile, Terry Rozier brought in 20 points, Tyler Herro found his rhythm in the second half to score 16 of his total 18 points, and Nikol Jovic chipped in with 14 points, helping the Heat to end their three-game skid.

The game turned when Miami closed the first half strongly with an 11-0 run, gaining a 46-41 lead by halftime. They continued to build momentum at the start of the second half, executing a 25-8 run. Jovic’s 3-pointer with 5:45 left in the third quarter helped solidify the Heat’s lead at 71-52.

For the Spurs, Devin Vassell emerged as a standout with 23 points, while the much-anticipated Victor Wembanyama added 21 points. Unfortunately for San Antonio, this loss marked their third consecutive defeat, placing their record at 19-22 as they reached the halfway point of the season.

Key moments in the game included back-to-back 3-pointers from Robinson and Rozier during the latter part of the second quarter, which not only gave Miami an enduring lead but also capped their vital 11-0 run.

A notable statistic was how Miami began the game, struggling to find their range as they missed their first eight attempts from beyond the arc. However, they turned things around impressively, making 10 of their subsequent 11 shots and ending the night with a solid performance of 18-of-33 shooting from 3-point land.

Looking ahead, the Spurs are set to travel to Paris where they will face the Indiana Pacers on Thursday and Saturday. Meanwhile, the Heat will host the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night.
