MANHATTAN, Kan. — On Sunday, Temira Poindexter delivered a standout performance, tying her season high by sinking five 3-pointers and totaling 19 points with an impressive shooting percentage of 7-of-9. This strong showing was instrumental as No. 11 Kansas State secured an 81-69 victory over Arizona State.

Kansas State improved its record to 19-1, remaining undefeated in Big 12 play at 7-0, and has now claimed 14 consecutive wins, marking the fourth longest active winning streak in women’s basketball nationally.

Contributing to the Wildcats’ success, Serena Sundell added 15 points, while Taryn Sides chipped in 11 points alongside six assists. Jaelyn Glenn also had a noteworthy performance, finishing the game with 10 points on perfect shooting, including two 3-pointers.

On the opposing side, Jalyn Brown shone for the Sun Devils, scoring a career-high 32 points with an impressive shooting performance of 11-of-14. Additionally, she made 9 out of 11 attempts from the free-throw line. Arizona State now finds itself on a four-game losing streak, bringing their record to 8-11 overall and 2-5 in conference play.

Brown’s scoring surge included six points during a 10-0 run that allowed the Sun Devils to take a five-point lead midway through the second quarter. However, Kansas State responded quickly, scoring 12 of the next 14 points. After a pair of free throws from ASU’s Lovett, Poindexter sank a 3-pointer, leading the Wildcats to a 36-30 advantage as they headed into halftime.

Poindexter continued her momentum into the third quarter, drilling a 3-pointer to initiate scoring. Zyanna Walker followed suit, extending the lead to 42-32 just 90 seconds into the period, allowing Kansas State to maintain a lead of at least seven points for the remainder of the game.

The Wildcats demonstrated solid teamwork with 26 assists on 29 field goals, shooting at a rate of 53% from the floor, while also converting 13 of 24 attempts (59%) from beyond the arc.

Looking ahead, Arizona State will host No. 20 West Virginia this coming Wednesday, while Kansas State will take a break from competition until Saturday when they are set to face Colorado on the road.
