IRVINE, California — On Saturday night, UC Irvine soared past Cal Poly with a commanding victory, concluding the game with a score of 101-71. This win marked the Anteaters’ seventh consecutive triumph, showcasing their strong performance this season.

Devin Tillis led the charge for UC Irvine, contributing 21 points to the team’s total and securing seven rebounds. His effort, along with significant performances from his teammates, solidified the Anteaters’ dominance in the Big West Conference. Bent Leuchten also shone brightly, scoring 15 points and exhibiting impressive accuracy, completing 3 of 5 field goals and hitting 9 of 10 attempts from the free-throw line. In addition, he recorded eight rebounds for the match. Jurian Dixon joined them in double digits, achieving 15 points while making 5 of 9 from the floor and converting all four of his free-throw attempts.

For Cal Poly, which is struggling this season, Cayden Ward was the standout player. He ended the game with 15 points and eight rebounds to his name. Teammate Peter Bandelj matched his points total, also scoring 15, while Owen Koonce added to the scoreboard with 14 points. However, the Mustangs fell to their seventh straight defeat, continuing a tough stretch in their campaign.
