HOUSTON — Zaire Hayes contributed significantly to Texas Southern’s performance, scoring 16 points in their 66-57 triumph over Alcorn State on Saturday night.
In addition to his scoring, Hayes recorded four steals, showcasing his defensive skills for the Tigers, who now stand at 6-11 overall and 3-1 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Jaylen Wysinger also played a crucial role, adding 11 points along with three steals, while Duane Posey offered a strong presence with 10 points and three blocked shots.
On the other side, the Braves, who are now 2-15 and 2-2 in conference play, were paced by Davian Williams, who managed to notch 13 points along with three steals. Jalyke Gaines-Wyatt contributed 12 points to the effort, and Keionte Cornelius added another 10 points, rounding out the Braves’ offensive output for the evening.
