NASHVILLE, Tenn. โ On Saturday evening, Brandon Weston delivered an impressive performance with 20 points, leading Tennessee State to a strong victory over Eastern Illinois with a score of 84-65.
Weston demonstrated his shooting prowess, connecting on 3 of 5 attempts from the field, including 2 of 3 from beyond the arc. He was also exceptional at the charity stripe, hitting 12 of 13 free throw attempts, which contributed significantly to the Tigersโ success.
In addition to Weston, Carlous Williams contributed 15 points to the teamโs total, while Antoine Lorick III added another 11 points along with eight rebounds, showcasing the teamโs balanced offensive performance.
For Eastern Illinois, Zion Fruster was the standout player, managing to score 18 points. Kooper Jacobi supported the effort with a double-double, recording 14 points and securing 13 rebounds, along with making two steals. Artese Stapleton also played a vital role, adding 14 points and three steals to the Panthersโ total.
With this victory, Tennessee State improved its record to 7-12 overall and 3-5 in the Ohio Valley Conference, while Eastern Illinois fell to 5-13, with a conference record of 1-6.
