PITTSBURGH — Maximus Edwards played a key role in Duquesne’s victory over Saint Bonaventure on Saturday, contributing 17 points as a bench player in a 75-57 win.
Edwards displayed an impressive shooting performance, completing 6 of 8 attempts from the field, including 5 out of 7 from long range.
Cam Crawford also made a notable contribution with 12 points, achieving 4 of 6 from the field and 3 of 4 from three-point territory.
Tre Dinkins joined the scoring efforts with 10 points, hitting 3 of 11 shots overall, including 2 from 7 beyond the arc, and converting 2 of 3 at the free-throw line.
On the other side, Noel Brown shined for the Bonnies, tallying 19 points and securing 10 rebounds.
Melvin Council Jr. contributed significantly as well, finishing with 17 points, along with nine rebounds and four assists.
Lajae Jones added 11 points to the Bonnies’ effort.
The Dukes took control of the game with just over 15 minutes left in the first half and maintained their lead throughout.
By halftime, the score stood at 38-29, with Edwards playing a pivotal role by netting 12 points.
In the second half, Duquesne surged ahead with a 7-0 run, widening their lead from nine to 16 points.
They outscored Saint Bonaventure by nine in the second period, with Crawford leading the team in scoring for that half, adding 12 points.
Both teams are set to return to action on Tuesday, with Duquesne taking on Dayton at home while Saint Bonaventure will host George Mason.
