LONDON — Crystal Palace has officially acquired 19-year-old Romain Esse, an attacking midfielder, from Millwall, a team in the second tier of English football, this Saturday.

Esse, who hails from London, has put pen to paper on a five-and-a-half-year contract with the Premier League side after impressively netting five goals this season for Millwall.
While specific financial terms have not been disclosed, reports from British media suggest that the transfer fee is around 12 million pounds, which is approximately $14.6 million.
Steve Parish, the chairman of Crystal Palace, expressed enthusiasm about Essa’s addition, stating that “Romain is the type of player who gets crowds off their seats,” highlighting the excitement he brings to the game.
Currently, Crystal Palace sits in 15th place in the league and is set to face off against West Ham later this Saturday. However, Esse will not be available for this match and is expected to make his debut in the following weekend’s game against Brentford.
