MILWAUKEE — On Friday night, the Milwaukee Panthers secured a 79-64 victory against the Youngstown State Penguins, thanks in part to a standout performance from Faizon Fields, who scored 21 points.
Fields also contributed significantly on the boards, hauling in nine rebounds, helping the Panthers improve to a record of 13-6 overall and 6-2 in the Horizon League.
Themus Fulks was another key player for Milwaukee, netting 18 points while shooting an efficient 8 of 14 from the field, although he struggled somewhat at the charity stripe, making only 2 of 6 free throws.
Jamichael Stillwell also made his presence felt, contributing 10 points with a shooting line of 3 of 8 from the field and 4 of 11 from the free-throw line.
For Youngstown State, who now hold a record of 11-8 overall and 6-3 in the conference, the scoring was led by Cris Carroll.
Carroll finished the game with 14 points and grabbed six rebounds.
Jason Nelson matched Carroll’s score by also adding 14 points and recorded two steals, while Ty Harper chipped in with 12 points for the Penguins.
Both teams will be back in action on Sunday, with Milwaukee set to host Robert Morris and Youngstown State traveling to Green Bay for their next matchup.
