ALBANY, N.Y. — In an exciting showdown on Thursday night, Siena secured a 93-75 victory over Sacred Heart, highlighting a strong performance from Major Freeman, who notched 20 points for the Saints.
Freeman’s contribution extended beyond scoring, as he also provided five assists, showcasing his all-around game for Siena, which improved to 8-9 overall and 3-3 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
Additional support came from Justice Shoats, who scored 18 points, shooting an impressive 7 out of 16 from the field and 4 out of 5 from the free-throw line while adding six assists.
Brendan Coyle also made a significant impact, contributing 17 points with a shooting line of 4 for 12 overall, including 4 out of 11 from beyond the arc, and converted 5 out of 6 free throws.
On the other side, Tanner Thomas stood out for the Pioneers with a remarkable 30 points and seven rebounds in the losing effort.
Bryce Johnson also chipped in for Sacred Heart with 13 points and six rebounds.
Both teams will look to build on their performances as they return to action on Saturday, with Siena traveling to face Merrimack and Sacred Heart hosting Saint Peter’s.
