NEWARK, Del. — Niels Lane scored 20 points as Delaware triumphed over Stony Brook with a final score of 84-74 on Thursday evening.
Lane contributed significantly with nine rebounds and six assists, helping the Blue Hens improve their record to 10-8 overall and 3-2 in the Coastal Athletic Association. John Camden also made a notable impact, putting up 19 points and grabbing nine rebounds, shooting 50% from the field while hitting 1 of his 4 attempts from three-point range. Meanwhile, Izaiah Pasha had a solid performance, recording 12 points, shooting 4 for 7 from the field and 3 for 4 from the free-throw line.
On the other side, Joseph Octave was the standout for Stony Brook as he scored 23 points. CJ Luster II also contributed 20 points, and Andre Snoddy added 10 points along with two blocks. Unfortunately for the Seawolves, this defeat marked their sixth consecutive loss of the season, leaving their record at 4-14 overall and 0-5 in the conference.
The game was competitive, with Delaware leading narrowly at halftime with a score of 39-37. Lane was key for the Blue Hens in the first half, scoring 11 points. In the second half, Pasha stepped up, leading his team with 12 points.
Looking ahead, both teams are set to return to action on Saturday, with Delaware preparing to face Elon at home, while Stony Brook will be on the road to meet Towson.
